Hidden costs when purchasing a building package – what are these and why do you pay them?

Purchasing a building package from a developer often carries costs a buyer is not aware of. These costs can include the following:

Rates and taxes are paid from transfer of the land, prior to commencement of construction and throughout the build period – 60% more on undeveloped land
Levies from transfer of the land for the full duration of your build.
